Originally opened in 1981, The Champion Course was redesigned by Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus Design Team in 1990 and 2002. The Champion Course hosts some of golf's most prestigious tournaments, including the annual PGA Seniors' Championships. Four of the course holes-the 11th, 15th, 16th and 17th-have been named among the 10 toughest holes on the Seniors' Tour by Golfweek magazine. In light of this, the 15th, 16th and 17th holes have been named "The Bear Trap" to signify the course's challenging conclusion. The Champion Course is dedicated to Jack Nicklaus in honor of those whose commitment to golf has been an inspiration to the game.
